Picked up a HA Roadbuster figure for my buddy @GeneralTekno at Target yesterday. I was actually half tempted to buy him for myself seeing as for some odd reason The Wreckers were one of the few and only things I genuinely enjoyed about the DOTM movie.
Now that I’ve watched the @Peaugh review, I’m even more tempted…
Sadly, limited funds and higher price-point releases mean that I need to prioritize. Right now both MP Rodimus and DOTM Leader Ironhide (One of only two DOTM toys I actually planned on buying) have been spotted in the state, the latter I actually had in my hands but had no money to purchase.
We’ll see how they shelfwarm. If I’m lucky, I’ll be able to get all the HA Wreckers for dirt cheap clearance…HA never really sold all too well out here. Hell, I’ve never even seen a HA ROTF Mudflap in the wild, @GeneralTekno had to grab one for me.
Oh well, I still have a couple of big paychecks this summer, we shall see how this plays out.
Usually I try to anticipate my paychecks each bi-week as a way to help plan for things I know are coming up; Tax payments, my mother’s birthday, setting money aside for christmas, etc.
Last week when calculating I figured that after all my expenses, bills, and allotted bi-weekly budget for both spending and necessities, I would have about $140 extra for the extra things mentioned above as well as a few things I’ve been wanting but haven’t had the money for…
Did the actual calculation with my deposited paycheck this morning…
have $271 extra…yeah, I’m just a tad bit off. Not complaining one bit tho…
So, this morning I joined a Voice Acting forum and already I’ve sent out my first audition lines for a project.
Like anything else, it was tough finding a first project/character. At first I thought I would audition for a Bleach fandub…but after making several attempts I never really came up with a voice I was happy with. I’ll definately come back to it, but perhaps not for my first audition. Instead I settled on something a bit more fun…
DeLoco from Skies of Arcadia…
Apparently someone is out to dub all the cutscenes, and despite never played the game (planning on borrowing it from a friend if he’ll let me) the character was too much fun to pass up.
The lines were recorded, edited, and sent off so now it’s a matter of getting a glass of water for my sore throat, and playing the waiting game.
So, AVERY LIBRARY is getting closer and closer to the end of Chapter 1 with each passing page. If I would have to estimate, I would say it has at least 5 pages to the conclusion.
As for Chapter 2? Well…the script is a bit of a quagmire right now. It’s moving along…but slowly.
See, orginally I had the whole story planned out before I even typed a word of Chapter 1…however, the problem was. The more I got into Chapter 1, the more I realized Chapter 2 was more than a bit of a mess and was in desperate need of re-working. And sadly, that’s where I’ve been for months.
I’m hoping the sit down and crank out the rest of the chapter in one sitting one of these days soon but…we’ll see how that goes.
Now, once Chapter 1 in finished and Chapter 2 is ready to be started. I think I’m going to start work on another project to release alongside the first few pages of Chapter 2.
Yes…the legendary KAIJU!! project. At least, that’s what I’m hoping for. Recently I decided to change the art style for Kaiju entirely, which means I’m spending considerable time at the drawing board…quite literally. Right now I’m looking at the possibility of something inspired by early 50’s anime.
Now…I know I have stated my disdain for Anime…and by disdain, I of course mean flat-out hatred…but I think for this project it is somewhat forgivable, and even somewhat necessary considering the entire project is inspired by Japanese Monster movies.
Also, I’m not going to be flat-out copying the style, I’ll be developing my own style using it as inspiration.
Hell, why do I need to explain myself?
Anyways…so that’s the plan at least. You’ll be getting to comic projects for the price of one very soon! And just a hint toward Kaiju…it’s not technically a comic…but it’s genre has “comic” in the name ;)
So, the new page of AVERY LIBRARY is out…I finally have a full weekend at my disposal…I can’t really go anywhere because I have limited cash and my debit card is canceled…what shall I do with myself?
Well, now that I have some time before the itch to start the new AL page starts, I’m going to be focusing doubley hard on trying to get the FanDub project I’m doing with my buddy finished.
As it stands right now, I only have one more set of lines to record and then it’s all post production. Which, if I’m lucky, SHOULD go rather quickly.
Once that is done, I’ll have no more distractions, and the last few pages (5 or so) of Chapter 1 of AL will go pretty smoothly. YAYS!!
What about after Chapter 1 you ask?
Well…the script for Chapter 2 is nowhere near finished so…who knows. Maybe some fanart? I dunno, hell…
Mandatory questions of: Did you contact your credit card, itunes, the people who made Mobsters and inform them?” You probably did already but just sayin. Good luck bro. Keep up updated!
Bank, iTunes, and PayPal have all been contacted.
My bank says they will not charge me these purchases and have even canceled my card number just to be on the safe side. Unfortunately this means I have to constantly run to the bank until I get my new card, but it is a small price to pay to ensure further erroneous charges.
I just sent an e-mail to iTunes, so no word back from them yet, but I’ll keep y’all posted.
So, I’ve been working on this FanDub project with my buddy Cliff. Tonight I finished most of my dialogue lines and decided to put his and my lines together for the first scene…you know, to see how things are going.
I’m very much considering giving the show a third and final chance to get on my good side. I’m going to buy the toys anyways, but I’d feel better about it if I was attached to the characters…
I dunno…I tried watching the mini series, at first I didn’t get far, but then I forced myself to continue to the end and give it an honest shot.
I really didn’t care for it to be honest. Mostly, because it was the SAME OLD SHIT ALL OVER AGAIN. The show tries nothing new!!! In fact…they pretty much admit it when they say that the conception of the show came from flipping through all the TF fiction and just piecing together the parts they liked best.
That’s not new, that’s not exciting, that’s not creative…don’t waste my time okay?
That’s the reason BEAST WARS and ANIMATED was so successful…IT WAS DIFFERENT!!!! IT WAS FRESH!!!!
You know what? Here’s an idea…and I guarentee I’ll be slammed for saying this but frankly I don’t care…
The next Transformers TV Show, needs to be 100% NEW CHARACTERS. That’s right…I said it. No Prime, No Megatron, No Bumblebee, No Prowl, No Starscream…etc.
I want a NEW Leader of the Autobots…or you know what? How about a new faction? You know, kinda like BEAST WARS did. Set it in the future…or better yet, in the past.
Really, I don’t CARE what you do as long as it’s different. I’m sick and tired of seeing the same bots, in the same situations, doing the same things, and saying the same lines from the same homaged episodes/movie.
If I hear “One Shall Stand, One Shall Fall” one more time…I’m going to freaking snap!
…*ahem* Sorry about that. Got off topic. Anyways, going back to what I was saying. I’ll try giving it one last chance. Try and finish up the season and see what happens. Of course, as you can imagine…I’m not confident in my opinion on this “clip-show series” changing much.
By all means, keep blowing on that coach whistle as loud as you can…and see how long it takes me to come out there and shove it so far down your throat your colon will be fully equipped to coordinate a track meet.
